Back in the dark days of 1941 in WW2 there was a propaganda publication named

"illustrated" which wasn't to be confused with the pictorial "London illustrated".

In a September edition of that year it featured a Vindiboy Robin A Hall who appears to have joined, trained, and left all in one day and was met by his Mum at the end of his training.
